My Upfield collection

This page shows images of all my editions – I have 47 copies of the various books, and only the Orion set was bought new – they have all come from second-hand bookshops, garage sales, etc.  Many are library throwouts – sold by the libraries in some cases!

Paperback sets

Then I have some Pan publications – an imprint of Pan Books Ltd London.  There have been at least 4 different ŌsetsÕ, one with the circles on a white cover, one with circles on a timber finish cover, and the police badge set, and the ones to accompany the TV series (above).  I have some of each.

As can be seen from the number of reprintings, in the late 1960s and early 1970s UpfieldÕs books were quite popular.  All were printed in Britain, so I canÕt say if the majority of sales were UK or Australia.

Wings Above the Diamantina, – the only one I have of this series with a cover picture from the 1970s TV series, and the incorrect spelling used in it..  Pub date 1973.

Then in the 1980s & 90s a new set of Orion imprints was produced by Angus and Robertson.  Inside the books it states Angus and Robertson, an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers.  Most editions published for Hinkler Book Distributors Pty Ltd.  Two of mine, although they bear the same covers, say they are Eden paperbacks, an imprint of Angus and Robertson.  (DoesnÕt it all get a bit confusing!)  IÕve noted below which two are Eden.

Winds of Evil, 1994

Mystery of Swordfish Reef, 1994

Death of a Swagman, 1994

Widows of Broome, 1988 (Eden)
