Zoe's pages

Zoe is a seal tortie-point Himalayan female (desexed), who lives with us as an inside cat, with her 'tower' cage in the garden.  She came to us via our next door neighbours.  We live in half of a duplex, and Zoe belonged to the lady who lived in the other half.  However, obviously not contented with her lot, she spied out the land and decided WE were the most suitable subjects for her attentions.  She was 10 years old when we first met her in July 1997.

Her former owner, Renee, worked at odd hours, night shifts etc, and this did not suit her regal highness!  Her first approach was to Warwick, who has the habit of sitting on the back step for his morning coffee.  One day he called me, and there was Zoe sitting on him.  As he'd never owned a cat he was initially alarmed, but she'd chosen her mark well!  In short order he was remarking how beautiful she was, and I knew he was a done thing.  When Renee was leaving to go overseas for an extended period, she asked us if we would like to become Zoe's new 'owners' (and I use the word very cautiously).  Naturally we said yes, and ever since she's ruled the roost.   Warwick is just 'putty in her paws', to quote Garfield.  She has owned us since Sept 2001 and she is, despite my irony, a constant source of delight for us.

She comes away with us on holiday in the car, and you can read the tale of her adventures 'in her own paw' at the link below.

Aug 2004 - Some more picturs of Zoe after our move to the borth coast of NSW.  She loves the new house which is much bigger than the old one and has lots of romm for pussies to indulge in 'mads' (running from room to room and generally being manic) and other play.  She also occassionally goes into the general cattery to interact with the other cats.  However, we have to be careful not to let her get cold or wet as she is now 17 years old and prone to cystitis.  We control this by feeding only mackeral and chicken and giving her half a cranberry tablet, crushed in water and administered with an eyedropper, every night.
